Siddaramaiah has been elected as new Chief Minister of Karnataka state by the Congress MLAs in a meeting held at Bangalore today in the presence of AICC observers.


As many as 103 MLAs out of 121 have favored him as the CLP leader. He will take oath in the swearing-in cermoney to be held at Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore city on Monday at 11.15am. 15 ministers also will take oath on the same time.

Mallikarjun Kharge, who was also in the CM race may be provided berth in Railway Ministry as Pawan Kumar Bansal has resigned to his post today sccumbing to opposition pressures.
